Terms of Service

The Short Version
- Use at your own risk. RiviMate is provided "as is" without warranties.
- We're not Rivian. This is an independent service, not affiliated with Rivian.
- Rivian's API can change. This may affect service availability.
- Be responsible. Don't misuse the service or violate others' rights.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using RiviMate ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
RiviMate is a third-party application that connects to Rivian's API to retrieve and display your vehicle data. The Service provides:
- Battery health monitoring and tracking
- Charging session history and analysis
- Drive history and efficiency metrics
- Vehicle status information
The Service is read-only and does not control your vehicle or send commands to it.
3. Not Affiliated with Rivian
RiviMate is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Rivian Automotive, Inc. in any way.
"Rivian" and related marks are trademarks of Rivian Automotive, Inc. Use of these terms is for identification purposes only and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.
4. Account Requirements
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Have a valid Rivian account with an associated vehicle
- Accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
5. Rivian API Dependency
The Service relies on Rivian's unofficial/undocumented API. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Rivian may change, restrict, or discontinue API access at any time without notice
- Such changes may temporarily or permanently affect Service functionality
- We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to your vehicle data
- Data accuracy depends on what Rivian's systems provide
We will make reasonable efforts to adapt to API changes, but cannot guarantee continued functionality.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Use automated systems to access the Service excessively
- Share your account credentials with others
- Impersonate another person or entity
7. Subscription & Billing
RiviMate Pro is offered as a paid subscription service. By subscribing, you agree to the following billing terms:
- Monthly subscription: RiviMate Pro is billed at $4.99 USD per month. Your subscription automatically renews each month until cancelled.
- Free trial: New users receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- No refunds: We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. Once a payment is processed, it covers the full billing cycle.
- Price changes: We will provide at least 30 days advance email notice before any subscription price changes take effect.
- Free credits: Promotional credits (from referrals or other promotions) are non-transferable, have no cash value, and are applied automatically to future billing cycles. Credits expire according to their individual terms.
- Payment processing: Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We do not store your credit card information.
- Lapsed subscription: If your subscription lapses (payment failure beyond the grace period or cancellation), data collection will stop but your existing historical data will remain accessible. You may resubscribe at any time to resume data collection.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Data displayed will be accurate, complete, or current
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
- Any errors will be corrected
You use the Service at your own risk. Battery health calculations, efficiency metrics, and other analytics are estimates based on available data and should not be relied upon for critical decisions.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RIVIMATE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
- Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any damages arising from unauthorized access to your account
- Any damages arising from changes to Rivian's API or services
Our total liability for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RiviMate, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
11. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue the Service at any time
- Change features, pricing, or availability
- Limit or restrict access to certain features
We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
12. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse or misuse the Service
You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
