What is RiviMate?
RiviMate is a web app that connects to your Rivian account and logs your vehicle's data: battery health, charging sessions, drive routes, and real-time state. It gives R1T and R1S owners insights that the stock Rivian app doesn't show you.
Is RiviMate a Rivian data logger?
Yes. RiviMate automatically collects data from your vehicle and stores it over time. You can track battery degradation over months and years, review detailed charging and drive history, and spot trends the Rivian app doesn't track.
How does RiviMate track battery health?
RiviMate calculates your battery's true capacity by comparing the reported energy level against the pack's rated size at each full charge. Over time, this builds a degradation curve so you can see exactly how your battery health has changed and whether it's within warranty thresholds.
Does RiviMate work with the R1T and R1S?
Yes. RiviMate works with both the Rivian R1T and R1S. Any vehicle accessible through the Rivian API is compatible.
Is RiviMate free?
RiviMate is currently free while in public beta. Once the beta period ends, a paid subscription will be required to continue using the service.
How is RiviMate different from the Rivian app?
The Rivian app shows your current charge level and basic vehicle status, but it doesn't log historical data or track battery health over time. RiviMate does: it stores every data point, shows you long-term trends, logs every drive and charge, and gives you tools like geofence alerts and efficiency tracking that the Rivian app doesn't have.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your vehicle data is stored securely and is never shared with or sold to third parties. Rivian credentials are encrypted at rest using platform-level encryption. You can export all your data as CSV or delete your account and all associated data at any time.
Can I self-host RiviMate?
Yes. RiviMate has a self-hosted edition that runs as a single Docker container with a PostgreSQL database. You own all the data and can run it on any server or NAS that supports Docker.
